"They Need to Set the Right Example"
Mika Singh acknowledged that Samay's show has content that may not be suitable for all audiences, and Ranveer should have considered this before participating. He stated, “More vulgar things have been spoken about on Samay's show. If you say such things in a country like India, it will be hurtful. Just because Samay has succeeded, many want to be like him, but that’s wrong. Both Samay and Ranveer are successful, but they should also set the right example."
Mika also emphasized the responsibility of influencers to control their messaging, especially when they have a large following.
"They Are Young, They Should Be Forgiven"
Despite the backlash, Mika Singh urged people to forgive Samay and Ranveer. He said, "They couldn't manage their success… I have nothing against them, and their families should not be dragged into this. Ban them for some time if necessary, but let them learn from this. Many influencers have now realized that they cannot talk irresponsibly. They are young and successful, and they deserve another chance."
What Led to the Controversy?
For those unaware, the controversy started when Ranveer Allahbadia appeared on Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. During the show, Ranveer asked a contestant a highly inappropriate question, which quickly went viral and led to severe backlash.
As a result, legal action followed, and Samay Raina deleted all videos of the show from his YouTube channel. Mika Singh's take on the issue highlights the importance of responsibility in digital content creation. While he acknowledges that mistakes were made, he also believes that Samay and Ranveer deserve to be forgiven and learn from this experience.
