Navra Maza Navsacha 2 Review: Sachin Pilgaonkar's hilarious sequel shines again
Navra Maza Navsacha 2 Review: It's not unusual for movies to fall short of their trailers, but it's rare when a film exceeds expectations. Navra Maza Navsacha 2, directed by Sachin Pilgaonkar, is one such movie that turns out to be much better than its trailer, delivering an entertaining experience.
Sequel to the 2004 Classic
Navra Maza Navsacha 2 is the sequel to the iconic Navra Maza Navsacha (2004), which starred Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar. In the first movie, Vacky (Sachin) fulfills his late father’s vow to visit the Ganpatipule temple naked, pushed by his wife Bhakti (Supriya). The couple also helps the police catch a criminal and wins Rs.8 crores.
New Challenges, New Journey
In Navra Maza Navsacha 2, Vacky and Bhakti are now living a comfortable life. Their daughter, Shraddha (Hemal Ingle), is grown up and in love with Lambodar aka Lamby (Swapnil Joshi). Due to a series of events, Shraddha challenges Lamby to visit the Ganpatipule temple naked, similar to her father’s previous vow. Lamby agrees, and the couple, along with Vacky and Bhakti, embark on an amusing train journey.
Fresh Humor and Funny Situations
The film follows a similar pattern as the first one, but instead of a bus, they now travel by train. Ashok Saraf plays the ticket collector, and his hilarious performance adds to the charm. The jokes and funny moments throughout the movie are fresh and genuinely make you laugh.
Unexpected Drama in the First Half
While the first film was light-hearted from the beginning, Navra Maza Navsacha 2 surprises with some conflict and drama in the first half, which wasn’t shown in the trailer. The second half, however, returns to a fun-filled journey that is sure to keep the audience entertained.
Perfect Blend of Nostalgia and Modern Touch
The sequel brings back the nostalgia of the original film while also feeling modern. The balance is well-maintained, and the movie feels both familiar and fresh at the same time. The music, especially the song Dumroo Vaje, stands out and adds to the overall experience.
Brilliant Performances
Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar bring back the same energy from the first film. Swapnil Joshi plays Lamby convincingly, while Hemal Ingle holds her own in the presence of seasoned actors. But once again, it’s Ashok Saraf who steals the show with his hilarious and heartwarming performance, even though he arrives late.
Star-Studded Cameos
The film features numerous cameos from popular actors like Siddharth Jadhav, Nirmiti Sawant, Vijay Patkar, Johnny Lever, and many more. Each one brings a touch of humor to the movie, making it a star-studded affair.
Some Confusing Elements
While the movie is highly entertaining, there are some inconsistencies with the timeline. Shraddha, born after the events of the first film, should be around 19 years old, but there’s no mention of her being very young, which feels odd. There are also some confusing character connections, with Nirmiti Sawant now playing Lamby’s mother, despite her previous role as Vacky’s aunt in the first movie.
Final Verdict
Despite some flaws, Navra Maza Navsacha 2 is a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining film that offers plenty of laughs. If you're a fan of the original movie or believe in Lord Ganpati, this movie will be a delightful treat for you.
