Supported by NFDC’s Screenwriters Lab

Konyak was chosen for the prestigious National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) Screenwriters Lab, an annual program aimed at developing scripts and connecting filmmakers with producers. This initiative is part of Film Bazaar, a South Asian trade expo held alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.

A Story of Betrayal, Honour, and Prophecy

The film follows the journey of Thungpang, a warrior who is driven by prophetic visions. In the midst of a brutal conflict between headhunting tribes, Thungpang must protect his people while facing his former ally, Sangba. Themes of honour and betrayal play a central role in this narrative, which is inspired by screenwriter Uddhav Ghosh’s travels through Nagaland.

Konyak will be multilingual, featuring dialogues in Konyak Naga, Hindi, and English, adding authenticity to the story.

Produced Under Jiboom Studios

Kumar will direct and produce the film under his banner, Jiboom Studios, which focuses on creating cinematic experiences for the big screen. He aims to craft a film that immerses the audience in the world of its characters, showcasing the endurance and heritage of the region.

Pankaj Kumar 's Work front

Apart from Konyak, Kumar is also working as a director on Khauff, a horror series for Amazon Prime Video, which is currently in post-production.
