Past Controversy Resolved on Hera Pheri 3

Earlier this year, Rawal shocked fans when he announced his exit from the Priyadarshan directorial, despite Akshay Kumar buying rights to the film. The move allegedly caused financial hurdles for the project and even led Akshay to consider legal action. However, Rawal clarified that he stepped back due to genuine reasons and returned the signing amount with interest.

Stronger Bond With Priyadarshan

While many speculated that the controversy could impact his rapport with Priyadarshan, Rawal insists otherwise. “A lot has happened but that hasn’t soured my relationship with Priyadarshan. In fact, it has made our bond sharper and stronger. Ghaav bhar gaya hai. Our relationship is very transparent,” Rawal said. The actor recently wrapped Priyadarshan’s comeback film Bhoot Bangla.

The Baburao Spin-Off Question

Fans have long hoped for a Baburao Ganpatrao Apte spin-off, but Rawal isn’t convinced. “We haven’t discussed a spin-off on Baburao. A film is a collaborative effort. I don’t think Baburao can exist alone. Shyam and Raju are equally important,” he explained. He further added, “I’m not a greedy actor. Even if a standalone film happens, Shyam and Raju also need to be there.”

Reflections on Phir Hera Pheri

Rawal also opened up about his dissatisfaction with Phir Hera Pheri. “They became over-confident while making it. Characters like those in Hera Pheri are rare, and they must be handled with care. While dubbing, I realised we had made a mistake. It robbed the film of its sanctity,” he admitted. However, he praised Suniel Shetty for staying true to his character throughout the sequel.
