Prabhas as Lord Shiva Devotee ‘Rudra’ in ‘Kannappa’ – Release Date Announced!
Superstar Prabhas is set to portray Rudra, a devoted worshipper of Lord Shiva, in the upcoming Telugu mythological fantasy film ‘Kannappa’. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film promises to be a grand tale of faith, sacrifice, and devotion.
On Monday, Prabhas shared his first-look poster, revealing his intense avatar as Rudra. The actor looks divine, dressed as a hermit, holding a crescent moon-shaped staff and wearing sacred white tilak on his forehead.

Star-Studded Cast & Special Appearances
Apart from Prabhas, ‘Kannappa’ features an ensemble cast, including Vishnu Manchu, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Kaushal Manda, Rahul Madhav, and Devaraj in key roles. Adding to the excitement, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and actress Kajal Aggarwal will make special cameo appearances.
Previously, the makers also released the first-look posters of Mohanlal, Mohan Babu, Vishnu Manchu, Kajal Aggarwal, and Akshay Kumar, building anticipation for the film.
Plot: The Inspiring Journey of Kannappa
‘Kannappa’ tells the legendary story of an atheist hunter, Kannappa (played by Vishnu Manchu), who undergoes a transformation and becomes a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva. In a powerful act of devotion, he is said to have plucked out his own eyes to offer them to the deity.

The film is set to hit theaters on April 25, 2025. Meanwhile, Prabhas was recently seen in the sci-fi blockbuster ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, directed by Nag Ashwin, alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The film is now available for streaming on Netflix.
