Tamannaah Bhatia is undeniably on a roll lately. After Jee Karda and Lust Stories 2, her much-awaited Tamil film with the legendary Rajinikanth, Jailer, finally hit theatres on August 10 amid much fanfare, igniting a box-office frenzy. Helmed by director Nelson Dilipkumar, the movie also features renowned actors such as Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, and Ramya Krishnan. Early reports indicate that Jailer is on the verge of achieving a groundbreaking opening day collection, estimated at a record-breaking Rs 49 crore in India.

Prior to its release, Jailer had already captured the attention of audiences nationwide, with BookMyShow recording a sale of an impressive 900,000 tickets. Notably, the southern states exhibited the highest demand, setting the stage for a blockbuster run.
The initial reactions from critics and audiences alike have been overwhelmingly positive, hinting at Jailer potentially claiming the title of the biggest Tamil opener of 2023. As of now, this honour is held by Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2. The magnum opus dethroned Thalapathy Viijay’s Varisu, with an opening day collection of Rs 32 crores.
