Samara Tijori has emerged as a surprise package in the recently released psychological crime thriller, Daldal. The actress elevates the thrill and brutality by going ‘bloody’ as Anita, a journalist with an unhinged shade to her. And recently, Samara opened up about her transformation into a boyish avatar, featuring a manly walk and sporting a short haircut - a decision that was solely hers!

“I did cut my hair, and it was my decision,” she says and adds, “We did try on a wig, but I did not feel it. I said let’s just cut it, it’s okay. Once I cut it, that changed a lot. I saw myself very differently. I had to change my walk a little bit; I used to do really strange things at home. I used to place an object between my thighs and walk a bit wider because that’s how men walk, usually. I tried to do a lot of these things that were more physical.”

Samara delves into the mental aspect of her character and reveals it stood strong on a lot of reading and watching interviews of Aileen Wuornos, an American serial killer. “But the mental aspect of it was a lot of reading and there was only one female that I have known of that people talk about, Aileen Wuornos (American serial killer). I watched a lot of interviews that I could find of her just to see her body language,” she mentions.

Daldal has begun streaming on Amazon Prime Video, and audiences are noticing how Samara Tijori adds weight to the plot with her menace. Directed by Amrit Raj Gupta and produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni, Daldal is an Abundantia Entertainment production. Based on Vish Dhamija’s best-selling book ‘Bhendi Bazaar’, the series brings together Bhumi Satish Pednekkar, Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal under one roof.
