Shruti Sharma Gets Real About Mitti and Playing Kratika in Amazon's New Series
Mumbai, July 29, 2025: Mitti, streaming now on Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free video streaming service, is not your typical homecoming story. The show follows a man who returns to his village after years away, only to find himself pulled into family tensions, buried grief, and the politics of the land he once left behind. At its heart are Raghav, played by Ishwak Singh, and Kratika, essayed by Shruti Sharma, two people whose journeys quietly transform them.

Beyond the essence of homecoming, Mitti’s story becomes one of patience, resilience, and letting life take its course. Both Ishwak Singh and Shruti Sharma experienced this shift first-hand while bringing their characters to life in the series, alongside Alka Amin, Yogendra Tiku, and Diksha Juneja in key roles.
For Ishwak Singh, Raghav’s transformation came without any overthinking or conscious control. He recalled, “It came pretty naturally to me. Raghav is a very wholesome character. Nothing was forced. I didn’t make a conscious decision to play it a certain way. I just played off the cuff and moved organically, like following a trail and seeing where it leads. I believed in the process. Of course, I prepared. I understood the character, the premise, the setting, the crisis, his desire to be successful in the city, and what it meant to come back home. With that, and an understanding of all his relationships, I just let it unravel naturally.”
Shruti Sharma’s earliest memory of the shoot was shaped by something far from the script. She shared, “My first day of shoot in the village was actually postponed because it had rained heavily that day. The whole village was flooded, and everything was wet, muddy, and weirdly beautiful. I remember walking through the muddy roads, soaking in that stillness. It had all slowed down in the best way. That was something that went completely off-plan, but it gave me a chance to shape how I played Kratika.”
Mitti is now streaming for free on Amazon MX Player, available on mobile, Fire TV, Prime Video, the Amazon shopping app, Connected TVs, and Airtel Xstream.
