South Korean Actress Kim Sae-ron Found Dead at 24, Days Before Planned Comeback

Popular South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her residence in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on Sunday. A friend who was supposed to meet her discovered her body and alerted the police. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of her death but have ruled out any signs of foul play.

Kim Sae-ron ’s Journey in the Entertainment Industry

Kim Sae-ron began her career as a child actress, making her debut in A Brand New Life (2009). She gained widespread recognition with The Man from Nowhere (2010), a film that became the highest-grossing movie in South Korea that year. Over the years, she took on diverse roles in films and dramas like I Am a Dad (2011), The Neighbor (2012), Snowy Road (2015), Secret Healer (2016), and The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim (2021).

Career Setback After DUI Incident

In 2022, Kim’s career faced a major setback after a drunk driving incident in Seoul. She crashed into an electrical transformer while under the influence, leading to her arrest and the revocation of her driving license. The court later fined her 20 million won ($13,850). Following the incident, she faced severe criticism and was unable to secure new projects.

Kim Sae-ron ’s Planned Comeback

Despite the controversy, Kim was reportedly working on her return to the entertainment industry. A friend revealed that she was preparing for a new film, The Guitar Man, and had plans to open a café. The news of her sudden passing has left fans and colleagues in shock.
