'Stree 2' Director Reveals Akshay Kumar's Improvised Cameo: 'Making Abhishek Banerjee Sit on His Lap Was His Idea'

The Story Behind Akshay’s Cameo
Director Amar Kaushik, who is also producing Akshay's upcoming film Sky Force, shared how Akshay’s cameo came about. The opportunity arose while they were shooting in London. During an interview with Connect Cine, Amar said, "Jaise hi unko dialogues bataye, he was like main pakka karta hoon beta, main pakka karta hoon."
Akshay's Improvisation on Set
Kaushik also revealed that the iconic moment where Akshay Kumar made Abhishek Banerjee sit on his lap was completely improvised by Akshay. Initially, the plan was for Abhishek’s character to sit in a corner, but Akshay suggested this change, which added an extra layer of humor to the scene. Abhishek further enhanced the moment by adding a line about Covid, which fit perfectly within the context.
A Memorable Scene
In Stree 2, Akshay Kumar plays a patient in a psychiatric hospital in Bhopal, who holds a crucial key to defeating the film’s villain, Sarkate. The scene, already written with humor, was taken to the next level by the cast’s creativity and improvisation.
