In shocking news, Taylor Swift's father, Scott Swift, has been accused of punching a photographer in the face. On Tuesday, a photographer in Sydney, Australia, accused the pop star's father of physically harming him near the Sydney waterfront. This incident reportedly took place after her tour ended in Sydney.

The pop star visited Australia as part of her Eras Tour. Her first show in the country was held on Feb 16 in Melbourne, and the last one took place in Sydney on Feb 25.

The accuser, by the name of Ben McDonald, reported to the police authorities, claiming that Scott Swift assaulted him at the Neutral Bay Wharf after the father-daughter duo arrived ashore, completing their trip on the yacht.

Although the media office of the New South Wales Police Force did not reveal the names, they did provide information that the police are investigating the case of assault involving a 51-year-old man and a 71-year-old man.

Scott Swift protecting Taylor?

Taylor Swift's team has not given a public statement regarding the matter, but the spokesperson for the music icon told Rolling Stone that at the time of the incident, two people were aggressively pushing to get to the singer, grabbing security, and even threatening a singer's staff from Swift's team.

"There were about four or five security there, and at one point, one of the American security started shoving his umbrella into me and my camera, and then Taylor got in her car," McDonald told the AP.

He added, "Someone else came running at me and punched me in the left side of my face. Initially, I thought it was an Australian security trying to be the hero of the moment in front of the Americans, but as it turned out, it was her father."

"It was just a punch in the chops. It's a little tender, but I don't have any bruising, and it didn't require medical assistance. In 23 years, I haven't been assaulted and punched in the chops, particularly by the talent's dad."

The photographer described his actions as civil, indicating that Scott Swift's response was irrational. "We didn't go rushing down the jetty. We didn't go rushing to the back of the boat. We waited for her to come up. Kept it very civil. But no, they had to be (expletives) and put the umbrellas up and umbrellas over her and then shove the umbrellas into our faces and then make out that we're the ones making contact with them."

Taylor Swift left Australia on Tuesday in her private jet after performing in front of almost 6 lakh fans during her concerts in Australia.
