The True Story Behind the Fighter
Mark Kerr was a two-time UFC heavyweight champion and a four-time ADCC winner. While he was winning big inside the ring, his personal life was falling apart. Kerr struggled with drug addiction and broken relationships, and the movie shows both sides of his life.
The film is based on a 2002 HBO documentary of the same name that showed the ups and downs of Kerr’s MMA journey.

Known for his charm and action roles, Dwayne Johnson shows a more emotional and serious side in this film. He said in an interview that he now wants to work on movies that have real meaning — stories that explore human pain and struggle.
Director Benny Safdie's Solo Debut
The film is directed by Benny Safdie, who is known for intense films like Uncut Gems and Good Time. This is his first solo directorial project. He also wrote the script and is producing the movie along with Johnson and others.
Strong Supporting Cast
Actress Emily Blunt plays Kerr’s wife, Dawn Staples, marking her second movie with Johnson after Jungle Cruise. The cast also includes Bas Rutten, Lyndsey Gavin, and Oleksandr Usyk.
