Sooraj Pancholi is set to portray the legendary warrior Veer Hamirji Gohil in Kesari Veer: Legends Of Somnath. Starring alongside Suniel Shetty and Vivek Oberoi, the film also introduces debutante Akanksha Sharma. The teaser was recently unveiled, creating buzz among historical drama fans.

Rigorous Training to Master Combat Skills

To prepare for the role of the 14th-century warrior, Sooraj went through an intense physical transformation. He trained extensively in archery, sword fighting, and endurance exercises under professional guidance.

Discussing his training, Sooraj shared, "This role pushed me beyond my limits. I had to develop strength, agility, and resilience, just like the real warriors of that era. Learning sword fighting techniques while staying true to Hamirji Gohil’s battle style was challenging but rewarding." He also practiced horseback riding and hand-to-hand combat to make his performance as authentic as possible.

Strict Fitness & Combat Training

To perform high-action fight sequences with realism, Sooraj followed a strict fitness regime. His training included:

  • Archery: Mastering precision, accuracy, and breathing control. He practiced for weeks to perfect his stance and aim, ensuring it looked natural on screen.
  • Sword Fighting: Beginning with wooden swords, he gradually moved to real weapons, learning various strikes, defensive moves, and choreographed battle sequences.
  • Endurance & Strength Training: Weighted resistance exercises helped him build stamina for prolonged fight scenes.
