Tulisa on Being Demisexual

During a candid conversation with a fellow contestant, Tulisa shared, “I feel like I’m demisexual. I need to have a really close emotional bond with someone. I’m a slow, slow burner. I’ve been celibate for over three years.”

The musician elaborated that her approach to relationships prioritizes emotional depth and connection over physical attraction. “I’m not an overly sexualized person. For me, it’s all about the connection and the emotions I feel with someone and then wanting to express them in that way,” she said, aligning closely with the textbook definition of demisexuality.

Despite being on the celebrity dating app Raya, Tulisa admitted that the idea of dating "genuinely makes me feel physically sick," emphasizing her disinterest in casual relationships.

What is Demisexuality?

Demisexuality is a sexual orientation in which an individual feels sexual attraction only after forming a deep emotional bond. Unlike conventional attraction, demisexual individuals do not experience immediate physical attraction based on looks or other surface-level traits. It is often placed on the asexuality spectrum.
