Yash Chopra’s timeless romantic drama Veer-Zaara has achieved a remarkable box office milestone nearly two decades after its original release. The 2004 classic, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, has crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office following its recent re-release. The film’s compelling cross-border love story continues to captivate audiences, further extending Yash Chopra's legendary legacy.

Re-release Boosts Box Office Collection
Veer-Zaara was re-released last week, earning an impressive Rs 1.80 crore. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film's domestic earnings contributed Rs 1.57 crore, with consistent daily collections. Internationally, the re-release added Rs 23 lakh, bringing its total worldwide earnings to Rs 102.60 crore.
The movie initially grossed Rs 98 crore globally during its 2004 release, with Rs 61 crore from the domestic box office and Rs 37 crore from international markets. Occasional re-runs added Rs 2.50 crore from 2005 to 2023, and with this recent boost, the film has officially crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone.
National Cinema Day Drives More Footfall
Coinciding with National Cinema Day on September 20, where tickets were priced at just Rs 99, Veer-Zaara’s re-release witnessed increased footfalls, contributing to its box office success.
