Filmmaker Ashok Pandit took to social media to express his grief, writing, “It is with deep sadness and shock that I inform you that our dear friend and a great actor, Satish Shah, passed away a few hours ago due to kidney failure. He was taken to Hinduja Hospital, where he breathed his last. A great loss to our industry. Co-star Johnny Lever remembers him

Comedian Johnny Lever also expressed his sorrow, saying, “Feeling extremely sad to share that we’ve lost a great artist & my dearest friend of over 40 years. It’s hard to believe—I had spoken to him just two days ago. Satish Bhai, you will truly be missed. Your immense contribution to film and television will never be forgotten.

Born in Mandvi, Gujarat, Satish Ravilal Shah’s acting journey began after graduating from St. Xavier’s College and completing training at FTII Pune. In 1972, he married Madhu Shah, beginning a lifelong partnership.

He made his acting debut in the 1970s with Bhagwan Parshuram and went on to star in iconic films like Arvind Desai Ki Ajeeb Dastaan, Gaman, Umrao Jaan, Shakti, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, and Vikram Betal.
