Vidaamuyarchi Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajith Kumar’s much-awaited film Vidaamuyarchi finally released in theaters on February 6 after multiple delays. The action-drama, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, received mixed reviews but still managed a decent start at the box office. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs.22 crore in India on its first day.

Tamil and Telugu Versions’ Performance
Vidaamuyarchi had a strong presence in Tamil Nadu, with an overall occupancy rate of 61.24% across 3,600 shows in Tamil. The film was also released in Telugu under the title Pattudala, but the Telugu version saw lower demand, recording just 12.82% occupancy across 800 shows.
Comparison with Ajith’s Previous Films
Ajith’s last release, Thunivu (2023), had a stronger opening, collecting Rs.28.6 crore on day one. His 2022 film Valimai performed even better, earning Rs.31.70 crore on its first day. Thunivu, made on a budget of Rs.200 crore, went on to collect ₹250 crore worldwide, while Valimai, which had a budget of Rs.150 crore, earned Rs.234 crore.
Star-Studded Cast and Budget
The film, reportedly made on a budget of Rs.200 crore, features a powerful ensemble cast, including Arjun Sarja, Trisha Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, and Arav in key roles.
Will Vidaamuyarchi Gain Momentum?
With the weekend ahead, it remains to be seen whether Vidaamuyarchi can pick up pace at the box office. Ajith’s strong fan base and word-of-mouth reviews may help the film maintain a steady run in the coming days.
