Vihan Verma, widely loved for his portrayal of Mohit in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein, has opened up about his time on the show and shared valuable insights into the workings of the television industry. Known for his charming on-screen presence, Vihan expressed his gratitude for the support he received from the production team while also addressing some challenges he encountered as a newcomer.

In an exclusive chat with News18, Vihan was asked if he ever felt he was treated unfairly on the sets of GHKKPM. Reflecting on his experience, he said, “To be honest, I wouldn’t say I was treated unfairly, but there were days when I felt certain situations could have been more in my favour if I were a senior actor. This is quite common. People always favour seniors over newcomers, and rightly so. However, there are times when you don’t expect someone to favour another person solely based on their age and seniority.”

Speaking about the extra attention often given to lead actors, Vihan shared, “There’s always an extra inclination towards the lead pair. Because they’re the faces of the show, they shoot more days and hours than the rest of the cast. I have faced a similar situation when I was made to wait in my room because one of the leads had a prior commitment and had to leave early, so the team was trying to wrap up their work first. While this is practical, it can be frustrating when you have your own personal commitments.”

Despite these situations, Vihan made it clear that they never impacted his confidence or mental health. He explained, “I’m very secure in my work. I don’t compare my status to someone else’s. Everyone has had their fair share of journey, and we all deserve better days. So, no, this hasn’t affected my mental health in any way. It would take someone to stoop very low to hurt me mentally.”

Vihan also took a moment to praise the production team, highlighting their professionalism and support. “The producers of the show were really nice to me throughout my time on the set. They were always respectful, and I had a positive experience working with them,” he said.

However, Vihan admitted that he was initially heartbroken when he heard a rumour about his scenes being cut. “I came across a rumour that some of my scenes were cut because of one of the leads. Honestly, at that point, I was heartbroken because I was new to the show, and it’s challenging to establish yourself in a hit show where people have great dynamics. I didn’t clarify with the actor at that time, but I did much later. If something like this happens, where an actor has the authority to cut someone’s lines, I think the makers are to be blamed, not the actor. My contract is with the makers and the channel, not with any actor. So, if the makers agree to something so childish, it’s their fault, not the actor’s,” he revealed.

Vihan Verma’s honest comments highlight the challenges faced by newcomers in the industry. Despite these difficulties, he remains focused and positive about his career.
