When Season 3 of The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered, fans were excited to see Kapil Sharma and his crew back with their signature brand of comedy. While familiar faces like Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, and Sunil Grover made a return, one key member—Rajiv Thakur—was noticeably missing. In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Rajiv shared the real reason behind his absence.

Rajiv, who was part of Seasons 1 and 2, humorously addressed the speculation by saying, "Itne bade show se koi rest nahi leta, obviously aapko nikala gaya hoga," before clarifying it was a joke. He explained that the show's tight format and his own prior commitments made it difficult to participate. “They had called me in between, but I couldn’t align my dates. Once I commit to something, I like to see it through. And with Kiku, Krushna, the guests, and strict 55-minute episodes, there’s barely space left,” he added.

New Format and Star-Studded Guests

The latest season features an upgraded format with fan interactions on stage and welcomed back Navjot Singh Sidhu alongside Archana Puran Singh. The season kicked off with Salman Khan, and Parineeti Chopra with Raghav Chadha are next in line.
