Over 60 people have died in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand as a result of the relentless rain that caused landslides, cloudbursts, and traffic jams, while efforts to rescue injured people and vehicles from under the rubble continue.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Himachal Pradesh will likely continue to have isolated but significant rainfall over the next two days, as well as Uttarakhand and northeast India over the following four to five days.

Tuesday saw the Yamuna River in Delhi cross the danger line for the second time this year as a result of the significant rainfall.
