New Yorkers were stuck with water everywhere on September 30, Friday. The city of New York received continuous heavy rainfall for hours causing flooding. The financial capital of the country was forced to stop when the city received torrential rains.

Subway connectivity was highly interrupted. Airports were also effected with LaGuardia airport getting shut due to flooding.

Roads became lakes as the city drainage system couldn't manage the amount of downpour. Transportation was disrupted and caused congestion.

Authorities advised people to stay home and take shelter at safe place if out. Flooded water even reached shops and damaged property of shipowners. Shop Owners tried safeguarding their property from water.

The governor of the New York declared emergency as the city encountered massive water logging. The extensive subway network which was a world famous trademark of the the city was also severely affected causing of shutdown of several lines in Brooklyn. Videos of subway stations flooding with water have went viral on internet. rain water cascaded down the staircases of subway station with other stations facing water seepage through roofs.

Subway system of New York has been serving as the lifeline of the city with millions depended on the system for daily transportation.

The governor of New York Kathy Hochul formally announced emergency in the city along with the adjacent  Long Island and Hudson River Valley.

Water reached knee height in grocery stores with dustbins amongst other things floating.

These incidents prove that nature is the same for the developed as well as the developing or the underdeveloped. It does not spare cities or states on the basis of their financial conditions. These incidents also prove one more thing, that be it the western countries or an Indian city, drainage systems can fail and therefore no one part of the world should be looked down upon.
