In Rajasthan, a 27-year-old individual passed away on Thursday as a result of injuries sustained during an altercation with forest officials and local residents.

The incident unfolded in Narol village under the jurisdiction of Harsora police station in the Kotputli-Behror district. The victim, identified as Waseem, was accompanied by Asif and Azharuddin, both of whom were injured in the violent encounter.

The police have taken into custody three forest officials and several local individuals connected to the incident. According to reports, the three men were targeted by a group of assailants who had blocked their path using a JCB vehicle, while a Forest Department jeep also intervened.

As per an FIR lodged by Waseem's father, Tayyab (54), the victims were forcibly pulled out of their vehicle and subjected to a brutal assault involving sharp weapons, iron rods, and wooden sticks. Waseem suffered severe injuries to his torso from a sharp weapon.

It is alleged that the attack was fueled by a rumor that the victims were involved in cow smuggling. Waseem's family has demanded justice for him and severe punishment for those responsible for his death.

Additional SP Vidhya Prakash Jat of Kotputli stated that the police had received information about wood smugglers heading towards the area from Hamirpur in a pickup truck, accompanied by a forest team. Upon reaching the scene, the police encountered a crowd of local residents, the injured men, and a JCB machine.

The injured were transported to Bansur for medical treatment, and Waseem's deteriorating condition prompted his transfer to Kotputli Hospital, where he subsequently passed away.

The post-mortem report is awaited, but initial observations suggest that Waseem sustained a sharp weapon injury to his frontal region, while the other two victims had non-life-threatening injuries.
