According to him, the Prime
Minister will preside over Wednesday’s International Day of Yoga festivities at
the United Nations Headquarters in New York to kick off the trip. In December
2014, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution designating June
21 as the International Day of Yoga.

According to the
Foreign Secretary, Mr. Modi will then head to the nation’s capital, where he
will be given a formal welcome by First Lady Melania Trump and meet with Vice
President Joe Biden on Thursday for further high-level discussions. He noted
that on Thursday night, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will throw
a State Dinner in the Prime Minister’s honor. According to Mr. Kwatra, Mr.
Modi will speak to a Joint Session of the United States Congress on June 22.

He stated that US Vice
President Kamala Harris and US Secretary of State Antony Bilnken will be hosting
the Prime Minister at a lunch on Friday.

According to the
Foreign Secretary, Mr. Modi will meet with a number of prominent CEOs,
professionals, and other stakeholders during his stay. He’ll also interact with
people from the Indian diaspora.

According to him, this
visit marks a major turning point in bilateral ties between India and the
United States. Mr. Kwatra remarked that the visit reflected widespread and
sincere curiosity about the United States. He stated that bilateral defence
cooperation is one of the main features that will be highlighted.

A major
aspect of Mr. Modi’s trip to the United States, he noted, will be a plan for
defence industrial collaboration. Mr. Kwatra said that the Prime Minister would
be visiting Egypt on the 24th and 25th of this month for a State Visit at the
invitation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. It will reportedly be the first
trip to Egypt for the Prime Minister.

The Foreign Secretary
has stated that Mr. Modi will not only meet with President Sisi, but also with
other high-ranking Egyptian officials, notable Egyptians, and members of the
Indian community in Egypt. Mr. Modi, he said, will see the Al-Hakim mosque,
which was built in the 11th century and refurbished by the Bohra group.

According to Mr. Kwatra, the Prime Minister will pay his respects to the Indian
soldiers who died while fighting for Egypt in World War I by visiting the
Heliopolis War Burial Grave.
