French President Macron in Israel called Hamas Barbarians,warned Iran and Hezbollah

The French President Emmanuel Macron visited Israel on October 24, Tuesday, to express solidarity with the Israel. The President met with Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu and gave out official statements as well. The French President visited Israel in the row of visists by heads of states following Joe Biden(USA), Olaf Scholz(Germany), Rishi Sunak (UK), Giogia Meloni(Italy), Kyriakos Mitsotakis(Greece) and Mark Rutte(Dutch).

Both the leaders gave out joint statements in which they condemned the terrorist acts by hamas and defended Israel's right to defend itself.

PM Netanyahu appreciated the efforts by French President to visit Israel during the time of war to exprres his solidarity.

Netanyahu described the attack by Hamas on Israel as the worst attack the world ever knew after the attack of 9/11. He said "it was the worst antisemitic violence since the Holocaust". He said that although he described the evil crimes by Hamas to French President, still he could list all of them down as they are beyond explaination. He said that Hamas raped women, burnt chidren, beheaded soldiers, took hostages. Calling it as a war between Civilization and Barbarians. He said that this war is not against Jews but rather the whole Middle East, it threatens Europe and the whole world. He said "Hamas is the test case of civilsation against barbarism".

The Israeli Prime Minister also recalled the horror of Paris terrorist attack and said that France knows the pain of terrorist attack, and  this pain should not be tolerated, therefore Israel will make all the efforts to dismantle the terror machinery of Hamas.

Hostages and War Crime

Netanyahu stressed on the issue of hostages held by Hamas and said that Israel will make all the efforts in its's capacity to release hostages  and keep Palestinians out of harm and prevent casualties.

He described the acts of Hamas as commiting double war crime mentioning that, Hamas not only targets Israelis but also prevents Gazans to leave for safe places instead hides behind them.

This is a long war 

Netanyahu made it clear that this will be a long war even though Israel wants to finish it as soon as possible.

Assuring of good times, the PM said that when this war ends, the people of Israel will rebuilt their communities and the people of Gaza will not have to live under the rule of Hamas. For this to happen, one condition must be met and that is the destruction of Hamas.

French president thanked Netanyahu for his kind words and said that France stands with them in the tough times. The French people were terrified by the horrors of the terrorist attacks and millions of French people stand in solidarity with Israel. He labelled the October 7 attack as the "terrible act of Barbarism".

Recalling the terrorit attack on France, he said that France also faced similar attack and therefore France stand with Israel against the most "horrendeous acts of terrorism".

Hostages and Humanitarian aid 

Hamas held more than 200 hostages when it infiltrated into Israel. Influencial nations have been making constant efforts to release these hostgaes. Emmanuel Macron also stressed on the importance of getting those hostages freed.

Amoung 200 hostages, Hamas has held 9 French citizens as well and therefore, it becomes more rational for France to be on it's toes to be taking steps to free them.

The President said that Hamas should and must release those hostages and that the all hostgaes shuld be released without differences.

Supporting the rights of Israel to defend itself , Macron said that Palestine also has a right to live in peace and that Hamas does not represent Palestine.

Since  Gazans are also suffering  in the war, he said that humanitarian aid should reach Gazans and electricity supply should reach hospitals in Gaza. He also empahside that civilians should not be harmed in the war.

Warning Hezbollah and Iran 

Since Hezbolla has been causing trouble for Israel from the northern front and Iran has been vocal for taking the side of Hamas. This creates a fear of spillover of the war which would be highly destructive. This is why the French President warned Hezbolla and Iran to not act against Israel as they would face severe consequences if they do so.

Call for coalitionby Macron

The French president also compared Hamas with ISIS and called for coordination between democracies to unit against this terrorist group.
