He recently revealed that anxiety forced him to leave the tech giant, where he spent nearly five years working and earning Rs. 6.6 crore annually.

It wasn't an easy road to become a $100 note counter. In fact, for the first six months after he joined Facebook, he was highly nervous. As a senior engineer, he experienced imposter syndrome. According to Rahul Pandey's LinkedIn post, he had trouble adjusting to the company's culture and equipment.

His colleagues left the firm

He claimed that because he was "apprehensive" about being "outed" as someone who didn't deserve to be a senior engineer, he didn't ask for assistance from his peers. Furthermore, a year after he joined, Facebook was experiencing internal issues that caused its stock value to drop. Several of his coworkers left the social network as a result of this.

But Pandey didn't do the same. But it felt premature to leave the organisation after just a year of employment. He told Business Insider that instead, he worked hard to raise his game.

Rahul Pandey developed tool to enhance efficiency of work

Towards the conclusion of his second year, he developed an internal tool that was quickly adopted by the entire company since it allowed the engineers to work more efficiently. In addition to his base yearly salary of about Rs. 2 crore, he was soon promoted and given equity worth two crore.

The COVID-19 pandemic, on the other hand, came after this, and Pandey began looking into alternatives outside of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

After three years at the same company, he moved teams and took on a manager job for his final year. As 2021 came to an end, he started investigating the world outside of Meta. He told the publication that he had recognised how much more he could learn outside of engineering after working in the tech industry for almost ten years and had attained some level of financial freedom.

He belonged to the top 1% earners of the country

Thanks to consistent outstanding performance and a rise in the price of Meta stock, his total remuneration in 2021 exceeded $800,000 (about Rs. 6.6 crore). He belonged to the top 1% of earners in the nation! The former Meta employee came to the conclusion that luck plays a big part in winning money at that level.

Founded Taro in year 2017

Pandey finally left his job at the company led by Mark Zuckerberg in January of last year. He had been employed there since August of 2017. Subsequently, he founded Taro, a firm that assists software engineers in developing their careers.
