Hamas to Exchange Hostages for Palestinian Prisoners During a Temporary Ceasefire Break

On Wednesday, as a sign of relief to the world, Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire in Gaza for at least four days. This decision has been made for 2 reasons- to let the Humanitarian aid flow in the strip and free 50 hostages held y Hamas in exchange for Palestinian people held by Israel.
Four Day Truce
Israel and Hamas have reached a four-day truce in Gaza, set to begin on Thursday morning, allowing for the delivery of aid and the release of 50 hostages held by militants. The agreement, mediated by Qatar, marks the first truce in the nearly seven-week-old conflict. Hailed globally as a positive step, it is seen as a potential relief for Gaza's civilians and a means to bring more Israeli hostages home.
Women and Children hostages to be released
The ceasefire comes after negotiations involving Israel, Hamas, and Qatar. Israel has stated that the truce could be extended further if more hostages are released. The initial agreement involves the release of 50 women and children over four days, with a commitment to extend the ceasefire as long as an additional ten hostages are freed daily. The total number of hostages held by Hamas and allied groups is approximately 240, with only four released previously.
The truce is expected to include the exchange of 50 hostages for 150 Palestinian women and children held in Israeli jails. In addition, hundreds of trucks carrying humanitarian, medical, and fuel supplies will enter Gaza. Israel will halt all air sorties over southern Gaza and maintain a daily six-hour daytime no-fly window in the north.
Despite the announcement of the truce, fighting continued until its official commencement on Thursday. Israel's military reported ongoing operations within Gaza to target terrorist infrastructure, eliminate terrorists, and locate weaponry.
Qatar's chief negotiator, Minister of State at the Foreign Ministry Mohammed Al-Khulaifi, expressed hope that the truce would lead to a broader and permanent ceasefire. Pending confirmation from the Israelis, the truce is anticipated to take effect on Thursday, aiming to bring a temporary halt to hostilities and pave the way for further negotiations.
