'Dana' cyclone wreaked havoc, Jagannath temple and Konark temple closed in Odisha
Effect of cyclone 'Dana is having a widespread impact in Odisha. In view of security, the state government has decided to temporarily close the famous Jagannath temple and Konark Sun temple.
This decision has been taken for the safety of pilgrims and tourists, as a warning of strong winds and heavy rains has been issued due to the storm.

Cyclonic storm 'Dana' is rapidly moving towards the Bay of Bengal. Odisha is going to be the most affected by this storm. In view of this, the Odisha government has made all preparations.
The Odisha government has closed the two major temples of the state, Jagannath temple and Konark temple, for devotees. This order is currently effective till October 25.
High alert declared
Even though high alert has been declared in many coastal areas of Odisha, and the local administration has advised people to move to safer places. While cyclonic storm 'Dana' is rapidly moving towards the Bay of Bengal. Odisha is going to be the most affected by this storm. In view of this, the Odisha government has made all preparations.
Due to this Odisha government has closed the two major temples of the state, Jagannath temple and Konark temple, for devotees. This order is currently effective till October 25. After this the situation will be assessed. Then the government will take a decision on opening these temples.

Though Jagannath temple and Konark temple are world famous pilgrimage sites. Thousands of people come here daily for pilgrimage from India and the world. To manage this crowd, the administration has to make large-scale arrangements.
The state government has already closed both these temples till the 25th so that the devotees do not get troubled in case of a storm. Apart from the temples, the museums of the state have also been closed.
Let us tell you that 'Dana' will turn into a severe cyclonic storm on Thursday, October 24 and will landfall on the Odisha-West Bengal coasts on the morning of October 25 at a speed of 100-110 km per hour. According to the IMD, the winds can blow at a speed of 120 km per hour during this time.

In view of the possibility of a storm, the Meteorological Department in Puri has instructed the fishermen to stay away from the sea. NDRF teams are present to deal with any situation and people are being kept away from the sea. At the same time, the railways are also on alert in view of the cyclonic storm

The Meteorological Department has advised people to be cautious, especially in low-lying areas and coastal areas, where water logging and flooding may occur. The state administration has also started preparations, and necessary steps are being taken to deal with any emergency.
