Pooja Kataria, one of the passengers, has come forward with shocking revelations about the hijackers’ behavior during the ordeal.

Terrorists Urged Passengers to Convert
Pooja Kataria, who was on board IC-814 on the day it was hijacked, revealed in an interview with India Today that the hijackers tried to convince passengers to convert to Islam. She shared that one of the terrorists, who was a doctor, spoke kindly to the passengers, trying to persuade them to accept Islam. Some passengers even started to believe him, but when the hijackers began threatening to kill them if the government didn't meet their demands, fear spread throughout the plane.
Birthday to Remember
Interestingly, the day of the hijack was Pooja's birthday. She mentioned that she still has items from that harrowing journey, including a shawl on which the terrorists wrote kind messages for her and her husband.
Terrorists Used Code Names
Pooja also clarified the confusion regarding the Hindu names used by the terrorists in the plane. She explained that these were code names the hijackers used to communicate with each other.
Attempts to Calm the Situation
Pooja recounted how panic broke out on the plane, leading to one passenger suffering a heart attack. The terrorists then tried to calm the situation by behaving more kindly, showing a different side to their earlier aggression.
