IDF annihilates Hamas tunnels: strategic infrastructure destroyed in Northern Gaza
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have successfully located and destroyed tunnels belonging to the Hamas general headquarters in the northern Gaza Strip. Released footage showcases the extensive tunnel network, which served multiple purposes including electricity supply, ventilation, sewage infrastructure, prayer rooms, and resting areas.
In a recent operation, the 14th Reserve Brigade Combat Team, under the command of the 162nd Division, targeted and demolished one of the hideout apartments of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in the northern Gaza Strip near Gaza City. The IDF reported significant findings, revealing a strategic tunnel shaft on the basement floor during an examination by the Yahalom Unit.
Further inspection led to the discovery of a substantial tunnel utilized by senior officials of Hamas' Military and Political Wing. This apartment was part of an intricate tunnel network facilitating the movement and operations of high-ranking Hamas officials.

The identified tunnel in the northern Gaza Strip extended for 218 meters with a depth of approximately 20 meters. Inside, the IDF found an electrical network, ventilation and sewage infrastructure, materials for hideouts, prayer rooms, and resting areas. The design of the tunnel allowed for extended periods of stay and combat.
Following the examination and operational activities along the tunnel route, the Yahalom Unit destroyed the tunnel. Footage was shared by the IDF, revealing the tunnel's route and the subsequent destruction in the area of Hamas' general headquarters.

In recent weeks, the IDF has uncovered weapons and warfare materials concealed in children's rooms and toys. Last week, forces from the IDF's infantry Kfir Brigade, in collaboration with elements of the 98th Division operating in the Khan Yunis area, eliminated terrorist squads with air support and armored forces. Intelligence-led operations targeted homes of Hamas operatives, resulting in the discovery and destruction of ready-to-use explosives in trapped buildings.
