In Gujarat, Tesla would establish its first manufacturing facility by 2024

Tesla is expected to establish its first manufacturing facility in the Indian state of Gujarat early next year, marking the company's imminent entry into the Indian market.

The ongoing talks to establish the EV maker's first manufacturing facility in India are reportedly nearing their conclusion and should be completed shortly. The Vibrant Gujarat Summit, scheduled for January 2024, is most likely where the news about the opening of a Tesla manufacturing factory in the state will be announced.

Sanand could be the potential location for setting up a plant

Gujarat, an Indian state, has long been considered a prime site for business establishment. Already, the state is home to Maruti Suzuki and other automakers' manufacturing facilities. According to a report released by the media firm, Sanand, Becharaji, and Dholera could be potential locations for the Tesla manufacturing plant.

Neither the state government nor the EV have released an official statement on this subject as of yet.

Rushikesh Patel, the spokesperson for the government and minister of health in Gujarat, has voiced confidence about Elon Musk's likelihood of investing in Gujarat.

Gujarat Minister Rushikesh Patel stated that Tesla's overall objectives and Gujarat's level of awareness and alignment are complementary during a Cabinet briefing on Thursday, December 28.

He further emphasized that the government and Tesla have been in active talks to finalize the agreement for the construction of the manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

Gujarat's closeness to ports has made it a popular destination

According to media reports, Gujarat has been the most popular location for Tesla's manufacturing plant, not only because of the state government's policies but also because of its proximity to ports, which makes it possible for the EV manufacturer to export its goods.

Due to their proximity to Gujarat's Kandla-Mundra port, places like Sanand make it easy for Tesla to expand its exports from India.

The summit provides a worldwide forum for information exchange, corporate networking, and strategic alliances for inclusive growth and sustainable development.
