According to reports, the attack was carried out by the terror group Tehreek-e Jihad (TTP), which is based in Pakistan, the Pakistani military said. According to the military, an operation to clear the area is underway.

A fierce firefight ensued from an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Tirah area of Khyber District.
One terrorist had been killed at that point, and two others were hurt before being captured by security personnel.
