Indian Embassy is probably going to commence Canadian visa services today
The Indian Embassy in Ottawa stated Wednesday that it will begin visa services for Canadians as of today. This is a measure that could defuse tensions in a high-profile disagreement over the shooting of a Sikh separatist on Canadian soil.

According to the Indian High Commission, "it has been decided to resume visa services after a careful review of the security situation, taking into consideration some of the recent Canadian measures in this regard."
As a result, services for entrance, business, medical, and conference visas will be permitted beginning Thursday.
The Indian High Commission and consulates in Toronto and Vancouver will continue to conduct emergency services, according to the statement.
Tourist, student, work, and film visas, according to the official, have yet to be restarted but will be dealt with as circumstances demand.
Why were visa services discontinued?
Relations between India and Canada deteriorated after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau openly accused Indian intelligence of being involved in the assassination of Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar, an accusation India condemned as "absurd."
Nijjar, who campaigned for the formation of a separate Sikh state within India, was wanted by Indian police on terrorist and murder conspiracy charges.
Canada has asked India to assist with the investigation into his death and has expelled an Indian diplomat.
New Delhi voiced outrage and responded by halting down visa services for Canadians. The Indian government has recommended its citizens not to travel to some sections of Canada "given an upsurge in anti-Indian activities."
India eased the visa suspension
Days after Canada announced that 41 of its 62 diplomats stationed in India will be recalled; India eased the visa suspension on Wednesday. That choice was made following a warning from New Delhi that it would revoke Canada's diplomatic immunity, which Canadian authorities deemed to be against the Geneva Convention.
To ensure that both countries have about the same number of diplomats stationed in each nation, the Indian government requested last week that Canada recall its ambassadors. However, it denied any idea that this request breached international law.
