Hamas, the Palestinian group, has unleashed a major assault on Israel, marking one of the most significant escalations in years. The surprise attack has resulted in numerous casualties, hostage situations, and intense fighting. This offensive began with a barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, followed by gunmen infiltrating Israeli towns.

Israel's response has been swift and resolute. The Israeli army has been mobilized, and the air force has initiated strikes on Gaza. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged severe and uncompromising retaliation, characterizing Hamas's actions as a declaration of war. The situation remains highly volatile and fluid, with both sides deeply entrenched in conflict.

Here is the International Community's response to the conflict:

India

Showing the support to Israel, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour."

United Kingdom
Foreign Secretary James Cleverly also criticized Hamas's Saturday attack on Israel.
“The UK unequivocally condemns the horrific attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians. The UK will always support Israel’s right to defend itself,” Cleverly said in a post on X (earlier Twitter)

Ukraine

President Volodymr Zelenskyy denounced what he referred to as a "terrorist attack" on Israel and affirmed that Israel's right to self-defense is unquestionable. Ukraine's foreign ministry similarly criticized what it labeled as "Ongoing terrorist attacks" on Israel.

“Ukraine strongly condemns the ongoing terrorist attacks against Israel, including rocket attacks against the civilian population in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv,” the ministry said on X. “We express our support for Israel in its right to defend itself and its people.”

Japan

Japan has issued a strong condemnation of the rocket launches and cross-border attacks by Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups into Israeli territory, as stated by the foreign ministry.

Iran

An adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, extended congratulations to Palestinian fighters, as reported by the semi-official ISNA news site. "We will stand by the Palestinian fighters until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem," it quoted Yahya Rahim Safavi as saying.

UAE

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has urged for the utmost restraint and an immediate ceasefire to prevent severe consequences, as reported by the official news agency and quoted by the foreign ministry.

Kuwait

Kuwait has conveyed its "grave concern" regarding recent developments involving Israel and the Palestinian territories. Kuwait squarely holds Israel responsible for what it perceives as unambiguous acts of aggression.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov

Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, has stated that Russia is actively engaged in communication with Israel, the Palestinians, and various Arab nations in light of the heightened tensions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He emphasized the importance of exercising restraint during these challenging circumstances.

Turkish Presdient Tayyip Erdogan
"We call for restraint from all parties," Erdogan said.
