Israeli diplomat expresses condolences for Indian national killed in Hezbollah attack
Israeli Consul General to South India, Tammy Ben-Haim, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Pat Nibin Maxwell, an Indian national killed earlier this week while working in Israel. Ben-Haim conveyed her condolences and pledged to work towards providing support from Israel to Maxwell's grieving family.

In an interview with ANI, Ben-Haim expressed the painful nature of the loss, emphasizing Maxwell's visit to Israel to work and assist, particularly from the friendly nation of India. She described Maxwell as a young man in the prime of his life, expressing deep sadness over the tragic incident.
"Hezbollah Attack" on Northern Israel
Providing details on the attack that led to Maxwell's death, Ben-Haim explained that the missile was launched by the Hezbollah terror group from Lebanon. While Israel employs the Iron Dome system to intercept rockets, she emphasized the inherent challenges, stating, "nothing is 100% in life."
Meeting Maxwell's Family in Kerala
Expressing her commitment to support Maxwell's family, Ben-Haim stated her intention to meet with the family in Kerala. She emphasized the need to provide assistance not only during this difficult time but also in the future, ensuring the well-being of Maxwell's wife, daughter, and family.
Mortal Remains Received by Union Minister
Union Minister of State for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan, received Maxwell's mortal remains at Thiruvananthapuram Airport on Friday. The Israeli interior minister, Moshe Arbel, also visited India recently to pay tribute to Maxwell.
Advisory Issued for Indian Nationals
Following the rocket attack, the Indian Embassy in Israel issued an advisory urging Indian nationals residing in border areas to relocate to safer areas within the country due to the prevailing situation.
Survived by Pregnant Wife and Daughter
Maxwell, 31, is survived by his seven-month pregnant wife and a five-year-old daughter. The Israeli embassy confirmed his identity and informed that he had arrived in Israel two months ago, working on a farm.
The incident underscores the complex challenges faced by nations combating terrorism, transcending borders and impacting lives tragically.
