Jaishankar meets Ukrainian Foreign Minister: In a bid to strengthen diplomatic ties and address pressing global issues, the External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar, engaged in bilateral discussions with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Friday. The talks, described as "open and wide-ranging," delved into various matters, particularly focusing on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and its broader implications.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister 2-day state visit

Minister Kuleba's two-day visit to India underscores efforts to seek a peaceful resolution to the protracted conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has persisted for over two years. Arriving on Thursday, Kuleba's visit holds significance amidst international endeavors to find diplomatic solutions to the crisis.

The meeting between Jaishankar and Kuleba took place at the Hyderabad House, where both ministers exchanged views on initiatives aimed at resolving the conflict peacefully. Following the discussions, Jaishankar took to social media to express the importance of their dialogue, highlighting the need to address global and regional issues of mutual concern. He emphasized the commitment of both nations to bolster their overall relationship and enhance bilateral cooperation.

Prior to the bilateral talks, Kuleba expressed optimism about revitalizing the partnership between Ukraine and India. Referring to the ongoing dialogue between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kuleba stressed the importance of their cooperation, particularly in exploring avenues for peace.

During a press briefing, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, affirmed the significance of the bilateral engagement. Jaiswal reiterated India's stance on advocating for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine-Russia conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. He also mentioned the forthcoming discussions on the Peace Formula proposed by President Zelenskyy, which outlines principles aimed at achieving lasting peace in Ukraine.

The visit of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba signifies a mutual commitment between India and Ukraine to deepen their diplomatic relations and address shared challenges on the global stage.
