James Cameron Reveals 'Avatar 3' Title and Sets December 2025 Release
At the Disney D23 Convention, several major updates were revealed, including the much-anticipated title of James Cameron's Avatar 3. The film will officially be called Avatar: Fire and Ash.
The announcement was shared on Instagram by the official pages of both Disney and the film on Saturday. The post read, "Just announced at #D23, our title for the next Avatar film. Avatar: Fire and Ash. Get ready to journey back to Pandora, in theaters December 19, 2025." Fans can look forward to seeing Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington reprise their roles.

Earlier this year, in April, James Cameron provided some insights into the third installment during an interview with AFP. He teased, "I can promise this: Whatever you think it's going to be, it isn't."
Avatar: The Way of Water, the second installment following Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster, delved deeper into the mystical world of Pandora, this time focusing on its underwater realms.

Discussing the creative direction for the third film, Cameron shared with AFP, "In the third movie, we're transitioning between the survival of Earth and that of Pandora. We’ll be exploring different cultures on the planet while solidifying the antagonist’s story".
"New developments occur within the Sully family, and we introduce a significant new character who will play a major role in the ongoing saga. Remember, this is a narrative arc that spans from the first to the fifth film, and we're right in the middle of it."
Avatar: The Way of Water made a significant impact when it was released in theaters across India in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, earning praise from both critics and audiences alike.
