J&K: Increased security in Poonch after a security convoy was attacked by terrorist
In a news terrorist incident in the Poonch area in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch sector, a security force convoy was attacked by terrorists on January 12.
Security convoy attacked
According to media reports, terrorists open fire at a security convoy in Poonch. This initiated swift action from the security forces who immediately launched a search operation. The suspected terrorists fired from the jungle area. after the incident, the forces increased security in the area. No casualties were reported from the incident.
The forces intensified the checking of vehicles in the area. The incident took place in the Krishna Ghati Poonch sector. The Indian army along with the Jammu and Kashmir launched a joint operation to investigate the incident.
The White Knights Corps took to X and said "At around 1800h today, a Security Forces convoy of vehicles was fired upon by suspected terrorists from a jungle near Krishna Ghati Poonch sector. No casualties to own troops."

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha met with the Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva at the Rajbhavan on January 13 and took review of the security situation in the sector.

Rajouri and Poonch sector under continous terrorist activities
Army Chief, General Manoj Pande also mentioned that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir is sensitive. He further said that the past 4-5 months have seen increased terrorist infiltration and attacks in the state. The army has increased deployment is has also maintained operational preparedness.
A similar attack on two military vehicles which resulted in the death of 4 soldiers and injuring 2 others in the Rajouri sector.
