Josler Energy Pvt Ltd, a key player in India's petroleum exploration and production (E&P) sector, has taken another step towards ecological sustainability. In partnership with Heath Consultants, Inc. (USA) and Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), Josler Energy is now part of the U.S.-India Low Emissions Gas Task Force (LEGT).

This collaboration aims to introduce advanced gas leak detection technologies in India. The partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IGL and Heath Consultants at GASTECH 2024 in Houston, with Josler Energy playing a pivotal role.

Advanced Gas Leak Detection for IGL’s Network

Heath Consultants’ cutting-edge gas leak detection technology will be integrated into IGL’s vast gas distribution network, thanks to their Indian partner Josler Energy. IGL’s distribution system covers major regions like Delhi NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, making it one of the largest city gas networks in the country. Josler Energy, known for its expertise in gas leak surveys, will provide technical knowledge and on-ground support to ensure the successful implementation of these new technologies.

Josler Energy’s Experience and Impact

Since 2019, Josler Energy, led by CMD Shri Sudhanshu Mehta, has conducted over 20,000 kilometers of gas leak surveys across India. These efforts have not only prevented hazardous leaks but also helped save financial resources by recovering gas losses. The economic benefits from these surveys are substantial, often covering their costs within just one month. The company's dedication to sustainability and public safety is evident in its efforts to curb Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions through effective leak detection.

Leadership in Sustainability and Safety

At the MoU signing, Shri Sudhanshu Mehta reiterated Josler Energy's commitment to safety and sustainability. He highlighted how partnering with Heath Consultants, a global leader with over 90 years of expertise, strengthens their mission to make India’s natural gas infrastructure safer and more efficient. This collaboration is expected to reduce methane emissions, which are harmful to the environment, and improve public safety in the regions served by IGL.

A Transformative Step for IGL

For IGL, this partnership is set to bring significant changes. The introduction of advanced gas leak detection technologies will help reduce methane emissions and enhance the operational safety of their extensive gas distribution network. Josler Energy will provide IGL employees with technical support, on-field expertise, and training, ensuring they are equipped with the latest tools and techniques to prevent gas leaks effectively.

Aligning with India’s Vision for a Greener Future

This collaboration supports India’s push towards a greener, more sustainable future. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized, reducing the country's carbon footprint is a priority, and Josler Energy is contributing by promoting innovative, eco-friendly practices in the energy sector.
