In a significant development, the Delhi Police Crime Branch, in collaboration with the Rajasthan Police, has apprehended three individuals, including two shooters, in Chandigarh for their alleged involvement in the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, as reported by news agency PTI. The accused have been identified as Rohit Rathore, a resident of Jaipur, and Nitin Fauji from Mahendragarh, Haryana, both of whom were captured in Chandigarh's Sector 22. Another associate, Udham Singh, was also taken into custody.

The alleged killers, Rohit Rathore and Nitin Fauji, had a cash reward of ₹5 lakh announced by the police for information leading to their arrest. Gogamedi was fatally shot in his Jaipur residence on December 5, and CCTV footage surfaced, purportedly capturing the assailants opening fire on him.

The Delhi Police Crime Branch, working in tandem with the Rajasthan Police, is set to transfer the apprehended individuals to the Jaipur police for further investigation. In response to the killing, a specialized 11-member investigative team was formed by the Rajasthan Police to expedite the arrest process.

The plot thickened with the arrest of another individual, Ramveer Jat, in Jaipur on Saturday. Ramveer is accused of contracting the shooters to carry out Gogamedi's murder. Police sources indicate that Ramveer and Fauji, close friends from neighboring villages who had studied together, had meticulously planned the execution in Jaipur. Fauji, an army personnel on military leave, and Ramveer, who recently completed his MSc. (mathematics), were connected through their shared academic background.

Further details revealed that on November 9, Fauji and his associates engaged in a shootout with the Mahendragarh Police Station Sadar and subsequently went into hiding. During this period, Fauji enlisted Ramveer to travel to Jaipur on November 19. The unfolding investigation aims to shed light on the intricacies of the conspiracy surrounding the shocking murder of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi.
