Kejriwal Issues Second Order from ED Custody, Focuses on Healthcare
Arvind Kejriwal Case: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently under the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), issued a second directive on Tuesday, addressing concerns regarding the shortage of medicines and diagnostic tests at mohalla clinics and hospitals across the capital.
Health Minister's Statement
Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj revealed that, despite being in custody, Kejriwal remains deeply concerned about the well-being of Delhi's residents. Bharadwaj conveyed Kejriwal's instructions, emphasizing the CM's distress over reports of medicine unavailability and disruptions in free diagnostic tests at various healthcare facilities.
Addressing Medical Shortages
Bharadwaj highlighted the critical need for medicines, particularly among economically disadvantaged families who rely on government hospitals for their healthcare needs. Kejriwal's directive underscores the importance of ensuring uninterrupted access to essential medications and diagnostic services for all residents, regardless of their own circumstances.
Immediate Action is required
In response to Kejriwal's orders, Bharadwaj pledged to take swift measures to rectify the situation. He assured the public that the Health Department would work tirelessly to address the shortages and ensure that hospitals and mohalla clinics are adequately stocked with medicines and equipped to conduct diagnostic tests.
Previous Directives
This recent directive follows Kejriwal's earlier order, issued from jail on Sunday, which tasked Minister Atishi with addressing water and sewage-related issues in the city.
