Lt Governor B.D. Mishra assured that India didn't loose land to China in Ladakh
The ongoing debate on India losing land to China in Ladakh was started by Rahul Gandhi. The Congress Prime Ministerial candidate claimed that India lost 2000 square kilometers of land to China in 2020. He has been continuously claiming that the Indian Government is hiding the truth of the conflict and is scared to accept that China took our lands, and we failed to protect them. Rahul Gandhi claims that he had talked to the residents of Ladakh who have given him this information.
To counter this, ministers of the Union government have called this out as fake news. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar himself made it clear that India has not lost any land to China during the Galwan Valley conflict. The last time India lost land to China was when Congress was in power in 1962.
Apart from Rahul Gandhi, even the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, made the same remarks about Ladakh. Members of the BJP as well as the ministers have clarified these questions, but the opposition is not ready to accept this.
B.D. Mishra assured that India has not lost any land, and that the troops are ever ready to protect the land and give a befitting reply. He also made references to India having indigenous products for everything from machines and guns, he said while attending the North Tech Symposium in Jammu on Monday. "Whatever happened in 1962 is immaterial. But today we are in occupation of our land to the last inch," said the governor.
He added, "Our armed forces are prepared for any eventuality, and God forbid if the balloon goes up, people will get a bloody nose from us." He further added that "Their intent is to defend every square inch of land. Nobody can dare to come towards India with any design to have a foothold here. I think all the credit goes to great leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
When asked about weapons, he said, "...when I was commissioned in the Army in 1961...there was nothing indigenous in my battalion. Our rifles, .303 small arms were made in Birmingham. The watch we got was made in Switzerland. Today, there is nothing that is not indigenous."
