Maratha Kranti Morcha (MKM) is protesting by observing bandhs against the actions of the police to adopt lathi charge. Maratha Kranti Mocha is holding observing Bandhs in various parts of the state.  Protestors have blocked road in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Protestors also observe bandh in Kalyan Nagar in Thane district of Maharashtra. They appealed to Shopkeepers to support them by shutting their shops. Essential services are carried as normal and office commuters also don't face any discomfort.

On Friday, September 1, protestors from the Maratha community have been sitting on hunger strike to demand reservation for the Maratha community in education and government jobs. The protestors clashed with the police resulting into severe injuries on both side. According to police, 20 protestors were injured and 37 police men including addition SP was injured. Police used Lathicharhe against the protestor and tear gas to control the situation. The protests were talking place in Antarwali Sarathi village in Ambad tehsil. The protests were led by Maratha leader Manoj Jarange.

During violence protestors even torched 4 police vehicles.

The violence continued even on Saturday when protestors torched several buses.

CM Eknath Shinde assured for proper action by expressing of twitter by saying " the incident of lathicharge on the Maratha reservation protesters is unfortunate. I have taken information of the incident from the district collector and the police superintendent and have ordered an inquiry into the matter. I appeal to the people to maintain peace.”
