Modi Cabinet approved the proposal of One Nation One Election
One Nation One Election: All though Modi 3.0 completed its 100 days, while the government took a stormy stand. Now Modi Cabinet has approved the proposal of One Nation One Election on today. This now opens the way for simultaneous elections on a total of 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country and a total of 4130 assembly seats in all the states.
Politics is heated across the country on this matter
Referring to One Nation One Election, PM Modi said that people were demanding it for a long time. Now the government's efforts regarding One Nation One Election are in one place and the opposition's questions are in another place. There is no doubt that there are challenges in implementing One Nation One Election in Many opposition parties including Congress have targeted BJP.

The PM said, "The important aspect will be to educate the people of the country about the navigable features of ONOP. We have only respected what the people of the country have been wanting for a very long time. Frequent elections, governance and most importantly law and order take a backseat and this is not good for the country."

While PM Narendra Modi posted on Twitter that the Cabinet has accepted the recommendations of the high-level committee to hold simultaneous elections. What is Kovind Committee proposal
All though Modi government had constituted the Kovind Committee to explore the possibilities of 'One Nation-One Election'. Today the Modi cabinet has approved the proposals of that committee, now it is possible that a bill on 'One Nation-One Election' is brought in the Parliament in the winter session and if the bill is passed, then from 2029, Lok Sabha election.
The Kovind Committee, According to the proposals, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections will be held in the first phase and then the second phase will be held within 100 days, in which local body elections will be held, but the opposition is saying that 'One Nation-One Election' is not possible. In such a situation, the question arises whether one election can be held in the whole country.
Placing this report before the Cabinet was part of the 100-day agenda of the Law Ministry. The committee has also proposed to form an 'implementation group' to consider the implementation of the recommendations made by it.
