My trip to Egypt was an
important part of history. The people of both countries will reap the benefits
of this revitalization of ties between India and Egypt. After leaving Cairo,
the prime minister tweeted a video of the highlights of his visit with a heartfelt
thank you to President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Government of Egypt, and the
people of Egypt.

Modi and his Egyptian
counterpart, Mostafa Madbouly, ended their trip at the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Following his visit to the Pyramids, the Prime Minister tweeted his gratitude
to his deputy, Mostafa Madbouly. We had a profound conversation about our
countries’ cultural heritages and future plans for strengthening ties between
them.

Abdel Fattah el-Sisi,
president of Egypt, met with Modi and presented him with Egypt’s highest state
accolade, the Order of the Nile. He was honoured with other world leaders, such
as Queen Elizabeth II and Nelson Mandela.

I graciously appreciate
the “Nile Necklace” with deep gratitude. Modi said in a tweet, that
he is deeply grateful to the Government and people of Egypt for this
honour, which reflects the great respect and esteem in which they hold India
and the Indian people.

The two leaders met and
discussed bilateral issues like trade, investment, defence, and security.
Adding fuel to the fire
of U.S.-China relations! Talks between Egyptian President and the Indian Prime
Minister went well. They discussed measures to strengthen the multifaceted
relationship between the two countries.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)
stated that the leaders had signed an agreement to upgrade bilateral ties
between India and Egypt to a “Strategic Partnership.” On
Saturday, Modi landed in Cairo after spending the previous three days in the
United States as part of a State visit.
