This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the glaring healthcare negligence that plagues our nation and should compel us to question the state of our healthcare system and the priorities of our government.
The fact that a similar tragedy occurred just two months ago in Kalwa Hospital of Thane Municipal Corporation should have set off alarm bells. But it appears that these warnings went unheeded, and the same mistakes were repeated. This is not a failure of the healthcare system alone; it's a failure of governance, accountability, and the very essence of humanity.
Opposition leaders, including Sharad Pawar and Rahul Gandhi, have rightfully raised their voices in condemnation. They have called out the Eknath Shinde government for what can only be termed as criminal negligence. They have questioned the allocation of funds, pointing out the paradox of a government that spends extravagantly on self-promotion but fails to provide basic medicines for children. What we need is a profound overhaul of our healthcare system, a commitment to patient safety, and a government that places the lives of its citizens above all else.
Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena (UBT) has rightly called this incident "murder due to absolute negligence." It's time for us to acknowledge that negligence at this level is a crime, and those responsible must be held accountable. Strict action should be taken against those who allowed this tragedy to occur, and compensation should be provided to the families who have suffered immeasurable loss.
