Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized the frustration of Naxalites as the state's Bharatiya Janata Party's "double-engine" government ramps up efforts against the Naxal menace. Speaking to reporters after honoring three CRPF personnel who lost their lives in a recent encounter with Naxalites at the Sukma-Bijapur border, Sai underscored the government's commitment to confronting the challenges posed by the extremists.

The wreath-laying ceremony for the fallen CRPF personnel took place at the camp of the 201st battalion of the CRPF's CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) unit in Karanpur village, Jagdalpur – the headquarters of Bastar district.

Double-Engine Government

Sai acknowledged the intensified fight against Naxalites since the formation of the "double engine" government in Chhattisgarh, led by the BJP at both the state and central levels. The Chief Minister expressed determination to continue the battle against Naxalites, citing a recent attack on security personnel in Tekalgudem.

"In Tekalgudem, a new camp was set up yesterday and suddenly Naxalites attacked security personnel. But we will continue the fight," stated Sai, praising the courage and high morale of the injured personnel whom he visited in Raipur. He extended his prayers for their speedy recovery.

Policy reach everyone

Highlighting the government's focus, Sai mentioned the establishment of police camps to ensure the benefits of schemes and facilities reach the people. "We want to provide them pucca houses, electricity supply, and other amenities in the interior areas," he added.

Among the fallen security personnel, constables Devan C and Pavan Kumar were from CoBRA's 201st battalion, while constable Lambghar Sinha served in CRPF's 150th battalion. All injured personnel belonged to CoBRA's 201st battalion.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, holding the Home portfolio, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, and senior CRPF and police officials also paid homage to the deceased.
