In a significant move just a day after taking office, Nayab Singh Saini, the newly sworn-in Chief Minister of Haryana, announced on October 18 that all chronic kidney patients will receive free dialysis services at government hospitals across the state. This decision aims to support those in need of vital healthcare.

Expansion of Services

Saini stated that free dialysis facilities will also be available in all medical colleges in the future, according to the Haryana Department of Public Relations (DPR). This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving healthcare access for the citizens of Haryana.

Swearing-In Ceremony

Nayab Singh Saini became the Chief Minister on October 17, in a ceremony where Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administered the oath of office to him and 13 other officials. The event was graced by prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting the importance of this new leadership.

Gratitude and Vision for Haryana

In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Saini expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the 2.80 crore people of Haryana for their support, which he believes is essential for the state’s ongoing development and reconstruction. He thanked Prime Minister Modi for the opportunity to lead and noted that the Prime Minister's special connection with Haryana inspires his administration to work diligently. Saini emphasized that under Modi’s leadership, Haryana is achieving new heights of development and assured that this continuous journey will persist.

Political Context

Saini was seen as a surprising choice to replace BJP's long-time leader ML Khattar, yet he successfully led the party to victory against a resurgent Congress party and overcame anti-incumbency sentiments. The OBC leader is now leading the BJP’s third consecutive government in Haryana, having won 48 out of 90 assembly seats.
