Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been given bail by Delhi's Rouse Avenue court. This bail prevents his arrest for not attending summons from a probe agency. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned him because they wanted to ask him about the Delhi excise policy case. They told the court that Mr. Kejriwal ignored eight summons sent under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Kejriwal claims Political Targeting

After missing the ED's summons, Mr. Kejriwal accused the Narendra Modi government of using central agencies to target leaders from the Opposition.

Details of the Summons

The ED issued the latest summons in late February, asking Mr. Kejriwal to come for questioning on March 4. But Mr. Kejriwal said the summons were "illegal" and decided not to go. He said he would only answer questions through video calls.

ED Insists on Physical Presence

The financial probe agency insisted that Mr. Arvind Kejriwal must appear in person for questioning. They said there's no rule for questioning someone virtually.

Other AAP Leaders Arrested

Previously, the ED arrested top AAP leaders like former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh. This arrest was related to a money laundering case linked to Delhi's old excise policy, which has since been scrapped.
