ED reach Kejriwal Residence: Security has been increased around Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's home in Civil Lines, Delhi. This comes after an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team arrived there in relation to a money laundering case linked to the excise policy. The Delhi Police took this step on Thursday evening to ensure safety.
Authorities put up barricades on the road leading to Kejriwal's official residence and stationed more police officers there. They also deployed assistant commissioner-level officers near his home.

The ED team visited Kejriwal's residence to deliver a summons after the Delhi High Court rejected his plea for protection in the money laundering case earlier that day. They also mentioned having a search warrant to the staff at the CM's residence.
The case revolves around alleged corruption and money laundering related to the formulation and implementation of Delhi's excise policy for 2021-22, which was eventually canceled.
As per speculations, the CM can be arrested soon. It Arvind Kejriwal is arrested, AAP will do their best rise this matter and protest against the government. The party has been continuously calling the summons by ED as illegal and irrational.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's legal representatives have lodged a plea in the Supreme Court contesting the High Court's decision to deny him interim relief in an Excise policy case. The legal team is actively seeking an urgent listing for the matter, according to sources.
This move comes after an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team visited Kejriwal's residence for questioning, following the Delhi High Court's refusal to grant him interim protection from coercive actions related to the excise policy case.
The High Court, in its recent ruling, declined to provide interim protection to Kejriwal, stating that it is currently not inclined to grant such relief. The court was addressing Kejriwal's request for protection from coercive measures in connection with the excise policy case.

The bench comprising Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Manoj Jain issued an interim order on Kejriwal's petition, with the main hearing scheduled for July 22, 2024.
During the proceedings, Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, argued that the summonses issued under Section 50 lack clarity regarding whether the summoned individual is a witness, suspect, or accused. Singhvi also expressed his client's concern about potential arrest for political reasons.
The court questioned the ED about its continuous issuance of summonses and inquired why Kejriwal had not been arrested yet if there were grounds to do so.
