Eight killed as bus fell into River in Nepal
A bus traveling from the scenic city of Pokhara to Kathmandu skidded into a river on August 23rd in Dhading district, resulting in at least 8 confirmed deaths. Another 15 individuals were reportedly injured.

The passenger bus became submerged in the raging river after skidding off the main highway in Bagmati province.
"At least eight people have been killed, and 15 more have been injured in the accident. The number of fatalities may increase as rescue operations are still ongoing," stated Deputy Superintendent of Police Santulal Prasad Jaiswar from the District Police Office in Dhading.
The bus accident occurred in the late morning at Gajuri Rural Municipality. While 8 deaths have been confirmed, 19 people have been reported injured. Chief of Dhading Police, SP Gautam Mishra, informed, "The bus veered off the road into the Trishuli river near the Gajuri waterfall. The bus is halfway submerged in water." Sharmila Bisural, Vice Chair of Gajuri Rural Municipality, added, "A search operation is underway."
He further explained that the bus had become partially submerged in the Trishul river, and rescue teams worked tirelessly to save as many individuals as possible. The Trishul river's water level had risen significantly due to continuous rainfall.
